DeWanna Bonner is ready to bring her veteran leadership and championship mindset to the Indiana Fever, a team that is rapidly rising with star rookie Caitlin Clark. In a press release by the WNBA, the five-time All-Star opened up about her excitement in joining the Fever and her aspirations to help the franchise return to its former championship glory.
“I’m extremely thankful to be joining an organization that’s on the rise and committed to growing the sport of women’s basketball. I’m looking forward to coming in, sharing my leadership and knowledge, and doing my part to help get this team get back to its championship pedigree,” DeWanna Bonner said. “But, more importantly, I’m excited to get to know everyone at the organization – the front office, teammates, behind-the-scenes employees and, of course, the fans! I can’t wait to see everyone at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in May.”
Bonner’s signing is a major move for the Fever who are looking to turn things around after years of struggles. Furthermore, her ability to score, defend, and mentor emerging stars like Clark and Aliyah Boston will be crucial in shaping the Fever into a championship contender.
