‘The Angel Reese Special’: McDonald’s Drops First-Ever Female Athlete Meal With Chicago Sky Star

Angel Reese has done it again! After making history as the first WNBA athlete featured on Vogue magazine’s winter cover, Reese adds another ‘first’ to her resume. The world’s largest fast-food chain, McDonald’s, has officially launched The Angel Reese Special, making the Chicago Sky star the first female athlete to have a signature meal with the giant.

The Angel Reese Special, featuring a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with cheese topped with a new barbecue sauce, will hit McDonald’s menus nationwide starting February 10 and the fans are all for it. Furthermore, in the latest interview with Andscape about the new partnership, Reese revealed why she paired with the fast-food giant.

“I always want my partnerships to feel authentic to who I am,” Reese said. “McDonald’s just hits home for me because it’s been part of my life for as long as I can remember, whether it is grabbing a McChicken after games growing up or knowing how deep their connection is to hoops culture. Plus, being a McDonald’s All-American alum, it just felt like it was meant to be. When McDonald’s approached me about this partnership, it was an easy yes. They see me for who I am — strong, confident and unapologetically myself.”

However, the Angel Reese Special isn’t just a meal—it’s a statement. After facing criticism from her haters for not meeting expectations on the court in Unrivaled, Angel Reese bounced back with an incredible performance and has now become the first female athlete to secure a partnership with the iconic fast-food chain. Whether her critics like it or not, Angel Reese’s influence continues to rise.
