Kahleah Copper and Lexie Hull have finally steered the Rose Basketball Club to their first win in the Unrivaled League. After enduring back-to-back losses since the league’s kickoff on January 17th, Rose BC’s star-studded roster, which includes Copper, Angel Reese, and Chelsea Gray, struggled to meet the high expectations set by fans.
Angel Reese, making her much-anticipated return to the court after a season-ending wrist injury in September, had yet to deliver the jaw-dropping performances fans hoped for. In their most recent matchup against Mist BC, Reese played limited minutes, contributing only 4 points in 8 minutes.
However, Copper and Hull rose to the challenge, leading the charge for Rose BC in a game that finally saw the team click. Copper’s aggressive drives, scoring efficiency, and leadership were on full display, while Hull’s all-around gameplay, from hitting crucial shots to making key defensive stops, proved vital in breaking the losing streak. Copper scored 18 points and secured 4 rebounds in just 12 minutes on the court. Whereas, Hull, as an underdog of the game, scored 19 points, secured 3 rebounds, and made 3 assists in just 10 minutes.
This victory is a turning point for the club in the competitive 3X3 league. With Kahleah Copper and Hull leading the way and Reese continuing to work her way back to form, fans have reason to hope for more wins in the games to come.
