Jason Whitlock Compares Caitlin Clark-Led Indiana Fever to ‘Bad Boy’ Pistons After Key Free Agency Moves

The Caitlin Clark-led Indiana Fever is on the move in the 2025 WNBA free agency. The franchise has bolstered its roster with veteran additions like DeWanna Bonner, Kelsey Mitchell, Natasha Howard, and Sophie Cunningham. Furthermore, with these key acquisitions joining Clark and Aliyah Boston, the Fever now has a legitimate case as a playoff threat—and possibly even a championship contender.

Due to their rising status, Jason Whitlock compared the Fever to the infamous “Bad Boys” Pistons of the late 1980s, citing their perceived attitude and competitive edge. His comments came just days after he called Clark a “woke idiot.”

“They will play the villain role in this race war that’s coming in the WNBA and people find that irresistible,” Whitlock said. “I am comparing the Fever to the ‘Bad Boy’ Pistons. They’re the ‘Bad Girls’ ’cause Caitlin Clark’s got an attitude and Sophie’s got a bit of an attitude and trust me, DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard, they definitely got attitudes.”

As the Fever continues to build a roster stacked with talent, led by Caitlin Clark and bolstered by established veterans, their future in the WNBA looks promising. Nevertheless, whether they will ultimately live up to Whitlock’s “Bad Girls” label or forge their own path as one of the league’s most dynamic and exciting teams remains to be seen.
