Angel Reese Faces Massive Backlash From Fans As Her Unrivaled League Performance Fails To Impress

Angel Reese, one of the biggest names in college basketball, rose to prominence playing for the LSU Tigers and entered the 2024 WNBA Draft with sky-high expectations. When the Chicago Sky selected her, many believed she would transform the face of the WNBA. However, just as she began finding her footing in her rookie season, an injury sidelined her, leaving fans eagerly awaiting her return in the next season to see her back in action.

When news broke that two WNBA legends were launching a new 3×3 league featuring 36 of the best female basketball players competing in six teams during the off-season—and Reese was one of them—fans erupted with excitement as they wouldn’t have to wait six months to see Reese back in action. The league kicked off on January 17th, with Reese suiting up for Rose BC, which has already played two matches. However, her performances have left fans disappointed, sparking debates about whether she’s struggling to meet expectations in this new setting.

Reese is currently averaging 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, yet she has failed to meet fans’ expectations. Post her games, many fans expressed their disappointment in her game and took to social media to share a piece of their mind. One fan, criticizing her rebounds stats while taking a hit at her scoring ability, wrote, “There’s a reason she gets so many rebounds. She misses like 5 layups in a row.”

Whereas, another fan expressing their constant disappointment with her performance wrote, “How does she stay this bad?” Furthermore, one fan taking a shot at her career choice wrote, “She plays basketball?” However, one wrote, “Angel scored an extremely low 10 points in her debut. Plus 4 fouls. Just a shameful showing.”

Another fan on a clip of her flaunting her stunning looks and fashionable attire before the debut game, wrote, “All this to go 0/6 from 3 and 30% under the basket.”
