The Los Angeles Lakers will lock horns with the Indiana Pacers today at Crypto.com Arena, but concerns linger over the availability of their superstar LeBron James. James, 40, has been instrumental for the Lakers this season, consistently putting up impressive performances despite his age. However, his lingering ankle soreness has raised questions about his ability to suit up against the Pacers.
The four-time NBA champion is currently listed as day-to-day because of left ankle soreness and given James’ importance to the team, the Lakers’ medical staff will carefully monitor his condition before clearing him for action. But that’s not all!
Lakers Shooting Guard Austin Reaves is also listed as questionable because of a left elbow contusion. Both James and Reaves have been crucial contributors to the team, providing scoring, playmaking, and defensive intensity. Their potential absence from the game could further test the Lakers’ depth, forcing head coach J.J. Redick to make necessary adjustments to the rotation. As game time approaches, all eyes will be on both these players to see if they will be available.
LeBron James led-Lakers’ performance in the season so far
Ranked 1st in the Pacific Division and 5th in the Western Conference, the Lakers have played 49 matches so far. Out of which they have won 30 of them and lost 19. However, the team is currently adjusting to a major roster change.
Anthony Davis, who was leading the franchise in points, rebounds, steals, and blocks per game (25.7 points, 11.9 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 2.1 blocks), was recently traded to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Luka Doncic. While Lakers fans are excited to see Doncic on their team, the franchise is still working to find its rhythm without one of its cornerstone stars.
