Devin Booker Claps Back at Mavericks After Luka Doncic Trade

The NBA world was rocked on Saturday night when news broke that the Dallas Mavericks had traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis. While fans and analysts were still processing the blockbuster move, Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker wasted no time to mock the Mavericks.

A day before the trade, Dallas’ official social media account posted a throwback image of Doncic staring down Booker during the 2023 playoffs and captioned it with, “Ok last one we swear.” Luka and Booker have had multiple heated moments on the court over the years and the picture posted by the Mavericks was one of the biggest one of them. However, when the trade news took over the internet, Booker didn’t hold back and mocked the franchise with just three words.

The star took to his X, formerly known as Twitter, account and replied to this post with, “Kept their word.”

As Doncic prepares for a new chapter alongside LeBron James in Los Angeles and Anthony Davis gears up to lead Dallas with Kyrie Irving, the NBA landscape has shifted dramatically. But one thing is certain- the fire between Booker and Doncic won’t be cooling down anytime soon.

Luka Doncic unfollows Mavericks on social media

Following the shocking trade, Luka Doncic wasted no time distancing himself from his former team. The superstar guard has unfollowed the Dallas Mavericks on Instagram, signaling a complete break from the franchise he once led.

With his new chapter in Los Angeles, all eyes will be on how he adjusts to his new team—and how he performs when facing his former squad. Given his history with Dallas, those matchups will be must-watch.
