LeBron James and Drake have shared a strong friendship over the years, but that bond now appears to be strained. As fans worldwide remain divided between Kendrick Lamar and Drake amid their ongoing feud, James has chosen his side. The NBA superstar was spotted at Lamar’s Juneteenth concert, where he enthusiastically rapped along to Not Like Us—a direct diss track aimed at Drake.
However, it seems Drake didn’t take this lightly. During the first stop of his The Anita Max Wynn Tour in Perth, Australia, the rapper altered the lyrics of his 2018 hit, Nonstop – to call out the Lakers star.
The lyric which originally goes like, “How I go from 6 to 23 like I’m LeBron, man,” was changed to, “How I go from 6 to 23 but not LeBron, man,” by the rapper.
Drake’s lyric adjustment could be his way of addressing that perceived betrayal. By removing LeBron’s name from the original context, he may be distancing himself from the four-time NBA champion, signaling that their once-close relationship isn’t the same.
Given Drake’s history of responding subtly through his music, many believe this was a calculated move. As the feud between Drake and Kendrick continues, the divide isn’t just among fans but also among high-profile figures in sports and entertainment. While LeBron James has yet to respond to Drake’s apparent call-out, fans are eager to see how this story of betrayal will unfold.
