The Indiana Fever has made another statement move this offseason, signing six-time WNBA All-Star, DeWanna Bonner to a one-year deal.
The Fever has been aggressive in reshaping their roster this year, starting with re-signing Kelsey Mitchell and bringing in former Defensive Player of the Year Natasha Howard in a recent free agency move. Now, with Bonner in the mix, Indiana has built a formidable core around No.1 overall pick Caitlin Clark.
With these key additions, Indiana is no longer just a rebuilding team. They now have a legitimate case to be a playoff threat—and possibly even a championship contender. Clark’s elite playmaking, combined with Bonner’s scoring prowess and Howard’s defensive presence, could make the Fever one of the most dangerous teams in the WNBA.
While the chemistry will take time to develop, there’s no doubt that the franchise has significantly raised its ceiling with these moves.
Aliyah Boston Hypes DeWanna Bonner Arrival
After news broke that Bonner was joining the team, Fever star Aliyah Boston couldn’t contain her excitement and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to celebrate with her signature catchphrase. “It’s never too early for a BOW BOW BOW!!! Lets get it🫢🔥🔥,” Boston posted.
DeWanna Bonner, who averaged 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game last season with the Connecticut Sun, brings versatility and playoff experience that will be crucial for the Fever’s young core.
