Many expected Angel Reese to become one of the best players in the world of women’s basketball. However, the young star continues to struggle to find her rhythm and the critics aren’t letting this slide. After an injury-shortened rookie WNBA season, fans hoped to see the LSU version of Reese dominate in Unrivaled, the new 3×3 women’s basketball league. Yet, the fans continue to be left disappointed.
Before the Reese-led Rose BC was getting all set to take on the Laces BC, prominent sports commentator Jason Whitlock unleashed a scathing critique on his show Fearless with Jason Whitlock. Referring to Reese as ‘Unapologetically Trash,’ he said, “Angel Reese is the most unskilled basketball player in the history of basketball. She has no skills. She has energy, she has an attitude, she will rebound you the basketball…nothing else.”
However, Reese responded to the criticism with her best performance in the league so far. While the Roses lost the game with a final score of 64-71, Reese was the standout player in this match. Chi-Barbie scored 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists in the game.

While Rose BC fell short, Reese’s resilience and ability to rise under pressure may be a turning point in her Unrivaled journey. The Rose Basketball Club will lock horns with Phantom Basketball Club on 31st Jan. and as the season progresses, fans will watch Angel Reese closely to see if she can build on this momentum and prove her doubters wrong.
