Kevin Durant Praises Unrivaled As the Women’s 3v3 League Kicks-Off

The much-anticipated debut of the Unrivaled 3v3 league has basketball fans buzzing, and it’s already earning praise from NBA royalty. Kevin Durant, one of the game’s all-time greats, recently took to social media to share his excitement about the league.

KD took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to confess that he loved the concept, which Unrivaled brings to the table and he was happy to see professional women hoopers on TV during winter months. The 6-foot-11 star wrote:

Co-founded by WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, Unrivaled is a groundbreaking 3×3 women’s basketball league. The league tipped off this Friday at Wayfair Arena in Miami, with two thrilling matchups: Mist BC vs. Lunar Owls BC, followed by Rose BC taking on Vinyl BC.

The league lets WNBA players stay in the United States during the off-season, allowing them to play and earn domestically instead of seeking income overseas. The opening night already exceeded fans’ expectations, delivering thrilling competition and receiving praise from NBA legends like Kevin Durant. With such a strong debut, the stage has been set for an exciting season.

Lunar Owls BC and Vinyl BC shine on Unrivaled’s debut night

The excitement on Unrivaled’s opening night was palpable, with both games living up to the league’s promise of high-stakes competition. In the first matchup, Collier’s Lunar Owls staged an electrifying fourth-quarter comeback to defeat Stewart’s Mist. However, the game’s turning point came courtesy of Skylar Diggins-Smith, who knocked down two clutch 3-pointers to seal the victory for the Owls.
